The Spanish Nursery and Children's Centre for Culture and Language Opening

12 October 2012 - The Spanish Nursery and Children's Centre for Culture and Language will open its doors in North London at the Ingestre Road Community Centre.

The new nursery will have places for up to 25 children aged from 2 to five years old and an Out of School  Hours Program (after school) for up to 10 children aged 5 to 8.  Classes will also be open to non-registered children (limited space.)The Centrewill be open from 8.30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and will also offer holiday and half term programs for children of all ages.

The building has easy drop off/collection points and is just minutes from Tufnell Park and Gospel Oak stations. Children can be booked into the nursery on a monthly basis and fresh, healthy food is provided daily helping the children to grow and develop.

The nursery is awaiting its OFSTED registration and will endorse the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, giving children a head start into compulsory education.

The project was developed by Aliette Fenton-Sharp and Carmen Rampersad – whose children attended the Spanish Sisters of Charity Day Nursery.  Carmen's background is in statutory child protection, safeguarding children's welfare and quality assurance and for the last 7 years has occupied various management positions in a London Local Authority. As an independent consultant, for the past 3 years Carmen has taught a child protection module for Early Years practitioners who complete their Early Years degree at London Metropolitan University. Aliette is an entrepreneur and has business management experience, having successfully opened a number of companies both in UK and US.
Aliette and Carmen, the Directors have appointed Marta Cebolla as the Childcare Manager.  Marta has considerable experience having worked at the Spanish Sisters of Charity Day Nursery for many years. 

We are thrilled to receive back many of the children who attended the Spanish Sisters Nursery, but are looking forward to welcomingchildrenfrom the local community.  We will promote Spanish Culture and Language; nevertheless, everyone is invited and we would love to be a part of the growth of diversity in the community.
